- Completes a thorough pre-operative assessment on all assigned patients. Makes sure all test results, History and Physical and consents are on chart prior to surgery.
- Performs assessment on pediatric and geriatric patients taking into consideration the physiological and anatomical differences specific to each age group. Identifies any specific consideration that may be necessary related to each age specific group.
- Observes, identifies and collects data to identify nursing care needs of the patients.
- Identifies supplies, instruments and equipment needed for the procedure, surgeons preference card, age, and specific needs of patients.
- Plans for the coordination of support intraoperative period, i.e., x-ray, pathology, etc.
- Provides quality nursing care based on patient's needs and plan of care. Supervises the care given by Surgical Techs.
Job Requirements
Required
- Graduate of an accredited RN program, upon hire
- Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days and
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 30 Days and
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 30 Days
- Nursing Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation of Patient Care Satisfied CBO/Annual, Competency Valuation, Program Requirements
