Global Project Management Senior Associate

We are seeking to add a Sr. Associate to our Global Project Management practice. This Sr. Associate will work on international client engagements and will be responsible for providing ongoing project management including planning, complex coordination, and issue resolution across non-US corporate compliance services primarily for mid-sized, dynamic global companies.
In this position, the Sr. Associate will be able to draw from own experience in the fields of finance, accounting/auditing, and/or tax to help clients manage their global project deliverables in progress with RSM international member firms. The following services could include: Statutory Audit, Financial Statements, Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, ERP implementations, and any other global projects performed by RSM US. The priority is to provide assistance for ongoing client service and supporting RSM US stakeholders in global projects.
The Global Project Management practice consists of a virtual team with a concentration of team members in our Kansas City and other US locations. We also have team members in India and now looking to expand our team with additional team members in El Salvador. The team is 75% located in the US across the central, eastern, and mountain time zones. The team consists of self-motivated, professional and responsible individuals that practice within the Firm’s Management Consulting LOB.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Proactively and effectively escalates technical issues in a timely manner, including escalation of difficult matters to project manager lead
- Understands fundamental project management techniques and strives to become highly proficient with the use of project management principles and techniques
- Responsible for tracking status for ongoing projects on a daily basis for assigned clients so that all deliverables are on track and liaise with RSM member firms and client to proactively follow up and request for updates
- Assists in preparing reports for weekly calls and governance meetings with client
- Ability to lead client status calls
- Maintains billing schedules, reconciles invoices and liaise with the client and RSM member firms on invoice questions. Understands the client billing arrangements
- Consistently meets the firm’s expectations for chargeable hours and margin
- Being comfortable working in an international setting and being willing to jump on early morning calls as well as late evening calls due to different time zones

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university
- Advanced professional English proficiency, including the ability to lead client status calls and prepare clear written project communications and status reports.
EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of experience focused on project management, business process improvement
- 1-3 year of direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
- Strong conceptual, analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be a team player and be able to effectively interact with staff at all levels of the firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
- AI literacy and responsible use of AI tools, including data privacy and output-accuracy judgment
- Experience using project tracking, workflow, reporting, or collaboration tools to monitor deliverables, actions, deadlines, and status.
