We are looking for a talented Engine Field Service Technician to join our team, specialising in field-based engine diagnostics, repair and maintenance within our Distribution Business Unit (DBU) organisation in West Yorkshire.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair a wide range of Cummins engine products across on-highway, off-highway, industrial, marine and power generation applications.
- Deliver high-quality field service support at customer sites, minimising equipment downtime and helping customers keep their operations running smoothly.
- Perform complex engine overhauls, maintenance and repairs in line with Cummins service procedures and quality standards.
- Use advanced diagnostic technology and electronic service tools to identify root causes and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Build trusted customer relationships by providing professional technical support and responsive service.
- Support the development of technicians and apprentices by sharing knowledge, coaching others and contributing to a strong team culture.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer outcomes through additional service solutions and preventative maintenance recommendations.
- Champion a safe, compliant and environmentally responsible workplace by following Health, Safety and Environmental standards and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronic engine systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and explain technical information clearly.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, prioritisation and working independently in a field-based environment.
- Confidence using digital diagnostic and service management tools to complete repairs, documentation and reporting accurately.
Education/Experience:
- Apprentice-trained Engine Technician qualification or a vocational diploma in a relevant technical discipline is preferred.
- Significant field service experience with diesel engines, power systems or related mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Expert-level knowledge of engine products, maintenance practices and repair procedures.
- Experience providing technical guidance, knowledge sharing or coaching to less experienced technicians is preferred.
- A valid driving licence is required, as travel to customer sites is a key part of the role.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
