Overview
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional education beyond high school preferred.
- Minimum of two years of clerical experience required, with at least one year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- A two-year degree may substitute for one year of required clerical or hospital/medical practice experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Provides professional, courteous, and respectful service to patients, visitors, providers, and internal customers while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Demonstrates strong customer service and communication skills, both in person and by telephone.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to navigate electronic systems and perform accurate data entry.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/CPT coding, insurance terminology, and healthcare processes preferred.
- Familiarity with EPIC, Biscom, OnBase, CareMedic, or other healthcare information systems preferred.
- Maintains strong attention to detail while accurately reviewing, entering, and managing information.
- Demonstrates effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills while working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Comfortable communicating with and obtaining information from patients, clinics, physicians, and clinical/technical staff.
- Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize assignments, manage competing deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team environment.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
- This position does not require operation of a vehicle for assigned business purposes.
