The Crew Pay Analyst is the definitive source of knowledge, or expertise in Crew Pay. The Crew Pay Analyst is responsible to analyze Air Canada Mainline, and Rouge pay in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreements and provide analytical support to conduct a variety of statistical activities.

This role is also responsible for addressing and resolving pay inquiries and discrepancies raised by crew members, and identifying potential system or data errors impacting pay. This role supports accurate and compliant crew pay, coordination for pay‑impacting changes, and collaboration with Payroll on retroactive payments or adjustments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain processes (SOPs) and procedures to ensure the pay-related aspects of the Air Canada/CUPE Collective Agreement are properly administered, and to support the efficient and compliant administration of all crew pay-related activities.
  • Lead development of pay guidelines and instructions to major stakeholders.
  • Ensure the integrity and efficiencies of the crew members pay for both Air Canada and Rouge by consistently validating pay accuracy, identifying and correcting discrepancies, and ensuring payments remain aligned with the Collective.
  • Agreement to prevent unnecessary budget impacts.
  • Analyze and validate month-end crew pay in advance of the payrolls production process and determine the appropriate corrective actions by assessing broader pay-related impacts, ensuring decisions remain aligned with the parameters set out in the Collective Agreement.
  • Collaborate with Crew Planning, Crew Scheduling, Flight Operations Management and Labour Relations to ensure legal compliance within the appropriate contract pay rules.
  • Analyze crew pay data and perform statistical activities to ensure optimal crew pay processes are adhered to and provide recommendations to Manager, Crew Pay as required.
  • Understand, articulate, document crew module requirements.
  • Participate in all project workgroups, modules, with the need for specialized knowledge for topics including but not limited to:
    • Crew Pay rules
    • Contractual rules
    • Crew Scheduling
    • Crew Planning
  • Create / review necessary documentation, such as system specifications, user guides, and training manuals, prior to distribution to end-users.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by following Air Canada’s corporate safety policies, ensuring proper handling of data and equipment, and promptly reporting any workplace concerns or potential hazards.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary program in business or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll, scheduling or similar operational area within a unionized environment.
  • Previous experience working with collective agreements (CUPE), including familiarity with pay rules and provisions, is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of Crew Pay and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates analytical “out of the box” critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and working knowledge of NetLine, Forum and other PC applications.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and accommodate changing priorities.
  • Flexibility with work hours.
  • Must be able to work in a team and produce quality output under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.

Conditions of Employment:

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations necessary for employment. Prior to their start date, candidates will also need to provide proof of their eligibility to work in the country of interest.
