We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Concurrent Editing team. In this role, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of software modules that enable collaborative and real-time editing experiences across Autodesk products and platforms. The ideal candidate has strong fundamentals in software engineering, hands-on experience with Java and Node.js, and a passion for building reliable, scalable, and maintainable services. You will work closely with engineers, architects, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while continuing to grow your technical expertise.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software components and services using Java, Node.js, and related technologies
Implement and maintain complex modules with guidance from senior engineers when required
Participate actively in technical design discussions and contribute ideas to improve architecture, scalability, reliability, and maintainability
Write clean, efficient, testable, and well-documented code following team and Autodesk engineering best practices
Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve routine technical issues with minimal supervision
Understand the impact of code changes on service quality, performance, reliability, and customer experience
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver software components aligned with project goals and timelines
Identify opportunities to automate workflows, reduce inefficiencies, and improve team productivity
Contribute to continuous improvement by learning and applying software development best practices
Escalate risks, blockers, and technical issues appropriately while proposing possible solutions
Minimum qualifications
3 - 5 years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in backend and distributed systems
Strong programming experience in Java and Node.js
Strong experience on AWS
Good understanding of object-oriented design, programming principles, data structures, and algorithms
Experience building backend services, APIs, or distributed system components
Good knowledge of design principles, coding patterns, and software engineering best practices
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to research and investigate technical issues with minimal supervision
Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices, including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and version control
Eagerness to learn new technologies, adapt quickly, and continuously improve
