Accountabilities:
- Support disaster recovery operations within large-scale z/OS mainframe environments.
- Manage and troubleshoot storage environments, including DASD and tape subsystems.
- Perform data recovery activities for tape and DASD platforms.
- Maintain and update disaster recovery plans, technical recovery procedures, and related documentation.
- Support disaster recovery drills by validating processes, resolving issues, and ensuring successful execution.
- Collaborate with technical teams, disaster recovery coordinators, clients, and vendors to coordinate recovery activities.
- Provide regular status updates and communicate technical findings clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
- Apply advanced problem-solving skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex storage-related issues.
- Ensure storage configurations and recovery processes align with operational requirements and business continuity objectives.
- 10+ years of experience supporting mainframe z/OS storage environments.
- Extensive knowledge of DASD and tape technologies, including IBM DS8k, TS7k, EMC, and Luminex systems.
- Experience with tape management systems such as Broadcom, TMC, IBM RRM, and OAM.
- Hands-on experience with virtual tape solutions and management, including VSM environments.
- Knowledge of storage replication technologies including Global Mirror with Practice and Global Copy.
- Experience with FDR software, ACS routines, and IBM IDCAMS.
- Strong understanding of z/OS JCL and SMS routines, including DFSMS and DFHSM.
- Experience using SAS/Vantage reporting for storage trends and analysis.
- Familiarity with tape dump restores and recovery procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
