We are looking for a talented Health and Safety Assistant to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our Cummins Inc. facility in York, SC

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Maintain accurate health, safety, and regulatory documentation to ensure compliance and support a safe, organized workplace. 

  • Provide timely and accurate data entry, reporting, and record management that enables informed decision-making and effective HSE program tracking. 

  • Support the reporting and documentation of workplace incidents, helping to identify trends and drive continuous safety improvements. 

  • Coordinate health and safety training programs while maintaining training records to ensure employees remain compliant and well-informed. 

  • Assist with audits, inspections, and safety reviews to proactively identify risks and help maintain a strong safety culture. 

  • Analyze and report HSE metrics and trends, providing valuable insights that support injury prevention and operational excellence. 

  • Promote employee engagement, health, safety, and wellness initiatives that strengthen an interdependent culture and increase safety awareness across the site. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality, safety, processes, and employee development while raising concerns that minimize cost, quality, and compliance risks.

  • Communicate clearly and build strong relationships with employees, leaders, and support teams to promote safety awareness and ensure effective collaboration. 

  • Demonstrate accountability and sound decision-making by maintaining accurate records, meeting compliance requirements, and following through on commitments. 

  • Champion health and safety excellence by identifying risks, supporting injury and incident reporting, and helping create an injury-free workplace culture. 

  • Adapt to changing priorities and remain organized while managing data, training records, reporting requirements, audits, and multiple safety initiatives. 

  • Embrace continuous learning and diverse perspectives by seeking feedback, developing HSE knowledge, applying ergonomic and safety standards, and valuing the contributions of others.

    Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
    High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

    A two year University degree in Industrial Safety or related field preferred. 

    Experience: 
    Minimal or no work experience required.

  • Project Support: Provide administrative and operational support for Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) projects, assisting with coordination, documentation, data management, and the successful execution of key initiatives.
  • Incident Investigations: Conduct thorough and timely incident investigations by partnering with supervisors and affected employees to identify root causes, document findings, support corrective actions, and promote a safe work environment.
