Junior Corporate Development Analyst
As part of PayJoy’s Strategy & Corporate Development team, you’ll work closely with senior leadership to support high-impact strategic initiatives for PayJoy’s global business, such as new market entries, product launches, and M&A investments. You’ll dive deep into financial data, market trends, and business performance to deliver insights that guide critical business decisions. This role is for someone with strong analytical capabilities, extensive financial modeling experience, and comfort building executive-level presentations. It offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to PayJoy’s growth strategy in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsabilities:

Build complex financial models in Excel to support global strategic projects and investments, including valuation analyses, P&L forecasting, and scenario planning.

Evaluate M&A and investment opportunities, including analyzing target financials, preparing deal models, and coordinating cross-functional due diligence efforts.

Gather and analyze data from multiple sources – including internal performance data, market research, competitor benchmarks, expert interviews, customer surveys, etc. – and synthesize into clear, actionable insights.

Design presentation materials for internal strategy discussions, Board updates, investor presentations, and executive decision-making.

Partner cross-functionally with teams across finance, legal, product, operations, and sales, and across multiple geographies.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

1-3 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or a related analytical role. Prior Fintech, banking, or consumer-credit experience is a strong plus, though not required.

Excel master: Expert-level proficiency in Excel, including the ability to construct sophisticated financial models for various purposes such as M&A valuation, financial forecasting, and data analytics.

Highly analytical: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail; capable of distilling complex analyses into clear and actionable insights. High comfort level using Claude and other AI tools to support analyses.

Financial-services exposure: Familiarity with how lending businesses and financial institutions operate, including payment and collection curves, cohort analysis, and core unit-economics and credit KPIs (LTV/NPV, loss rates, portfolio yield, etc.)

Ownership mentality: Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple priorities at once in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communicator & collaborator: Experience working in cross-functional teams and comfortable engaging with senior audiences; able to craft compelling narratives (backed by robust data and analysis) to drive recommendations.

Bi-lingual: Written and spoken fluency in both English and Spanish is required (fluency in Portuguese is a plus).
