What this job involves:
As a Software Engineer P1 at JLL, you'll join a collaborative team building and maintaining innovative technology solutions that power our global real estate services. In this role, you'll contribute to full-stack development projects, write clean and maintainable code, and help solve complex technical challenges that directly impact how we serve our clients. You'll work alongside experienced engineers who are committed to your growth, gaining hands-on experience with modern development practices, cloud technologies, and agile methodologies. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Design, develop, and test software applications and features using modern programming languages and frameworks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and senior engineers to deliver high-quality solutions
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality and share knowledge
- Debug and troubleshoot issues in development, testing, and production environments
- Write and maintain technical documentation for code, APIs, and system architectures
- Contribute to improving development processes, tools, and best practices within the team
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to bring fresh ideas to the team
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 0-2 years of professional software development experience or relevant internship experience
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar
- Understanding of fundamental computer science concepts including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with RESTful API design and development
- Exposure to agile development methodologies
- Contributions to open-source projects or personal programming portfolio
