Details of Research Project:

We are seeking a highly motivated and independent Postdoctoral Fellow to lead hypothesis-driven research focused on the epigenetic and transcriptional regulation of heart and lung vascular diseases. This position is ideally suited for a candidate with a strong background in epigenetics, chromatin biology, vascular biology, or molecular cardiopulmonary research.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary research team and contribute to projects aimed at uncovering novel molecular mechanisms underlying pulmonary hypertension, cardiac remodeling, and other lung vascular pathologies. Our work integrates basic and translational science with the goal of identifying therapeutic targets.

Technical Duties: (include any protocols)

Design and conduct molecular and cellular experiments focused on cardiopulmonary disease mechanisms using Primary cell cultures (e.g., endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells), Animal models of vascular and cardiopulmonary disease, Human tissue samples, where applicable, drug screening, and Gene Therapy.

· Apply next-generation sequencing (NGS) techniques, including: ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, RNA-seq, and single-cell omics

· Perform multi-omics data analysis, including epigenomic and transcriptomic profiling.

· Interpret and present research findings in lab meetings, seminars, and at national/international scientific conferences.

· Prepare and submit manuscripts to high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.

· Contribute to the preparation of research grant proposals and progress reports.

Educational and other Requirements for the position: PhD

Experience Required:

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Epigenetics, Genomics, or related field.

? Strong background in epigenetic regulation and molecular biology techniques.

? Strong publication record in relevant areas.

? Basic to intermediate skills in bioinformatics and statistical analysis of omics data (e.g., R, Python, or other tools).

? Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

? Excellent scientific writing, communication, and collaboration skills.

Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project:

Elucidate Epigenetic Mechanisms in cardiopulmonary Disease Pathogenesis and identify key epigenetic alterations that contribute to the development and progression of chronic lung diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis and PAH.

? Integrate Multi-Omics Datasets: Combine epigenomic data with transcriptomic, proteomic, or clinical datasets to build comprehensive molecular profiles and identify therapeutic targets.

? Evaluate the Therapeutic Potential of Epigenetic Modulators using drug and gene therapy.

? Disseminate Novel Findings: Publish results in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, present findings at national and international conferences.

? Support the postdoctoral fellow in developing independent research skills.
