Accountabilities:

    The Chief Technology Officer will define and execute the technology strategy while overseeing engineering, infrastructure, data, security, and innovation initiatives. This role requires a visionary technology leader who can balance strategic direction with operational execution, mentor distributed teams, and ensure technology solutions support long-term business goals.

    • Define and execute the long-term technology roadmap aligned with business growth objectives and organizational priorities.
    • Provide executive leadership across software development, architecture, infrastructure, data, and technology innovation initiatives.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop distributed engineering teams, technical leaders, developers, and external technology partners.
    • Establish software development standards, architecture practices, security frameworks, and scalability guidelines.
    • Partner with executive and business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into effective technology solutions.
    • Oversee modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, platform improvements, system optimization, and technical debt reduction.
    • Ensure technology systems maintain high availability, performance, reliability, and security standards.
    • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve business capabilities and competitive positioning.
    • Manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, resource planning, and investment priorities.
    • Drive data strategy, analytics capabilities, and business intelligence initiatives across the organization.
    • Establish technology KPIs and performance metrics to measure operational efficiency and business impact.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within a remote environment.
    • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with Product, Operations, Finance, Business Development, and other teams to support company-wide initiatives.
    • Provide technical leadership for strategic partnerships, including technology evaluations and due diligence activities.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on technology executive with extensive experience leading engineering organizations, scaling platforms, and aligning technology strategies with business outcomes. You should have strong technical depth, executive communication skills, and experience managing complex technology environments.

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.
      • 15+ years of experience in software development and technology leadership roles.
      • 10+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including senior technical leaders.
      • Previous executive-level experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or equivalent technology leadership role.
      • Proven experience building and scaling SaaS platforms, enterprise applications, or multi-tenant systems.
      • Strong expertise with Microsoft technology ecosystems, including .NET, SQL Server, and Azure.
      • Advanced knowledge of Classic ASP and experience modernizing legacy applications into current frameworks.
      • Experience with C# .NET, MVC frameworks, and Entity Framework.
      • Strong understanding of modern software architecture principles, including cloud-native systems, APIs, and microservices.
      • Experience leading platform scalability initiatives and technology transformations in high-growth environments.
      • Deep understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance practices.
      • Experience managing remote and globally distributed engineering teams.
      • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technology decisions to revenue growth and operational improvements.
      • Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
      • Preferred qualifications include:

        • Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
        • Experience within retail, home improvement, marketplace platforms, or partner-driven ecosystems.
