Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead new features and products uniquely enabled by Web3 technology on our newly released Amex Passport product. The person in this role will create novel experiences across travel, dining, and entertainment that drive habitual engagement with our Card Members. They will work with the broader team to invent new offerings that strengthen connections with our Card Members and expand the value of Amex Passport.

This Senior Product Manager will be responsible for conducting market research to pinpoint customer needs, defining the customer experience, and owning the core end-to-end UI/UX flows that bring new product experiences to life. They will work cross-functionally to articulate requirements, deliver product features, define complex architecture in partnership with technology teams, and evolve the product backlog.

This person will also own key relationships with the transaction and data teams, marketing, design, and other teams across American Express. They will serve as the main point of contact for design and cross-functional partners, ensuring that product experiences are cohesive, intuitive, and aligned with broader business objectives.

In addition, this Senior Product Manager will work closely with AI-enabled capabilities, including agents, to explore and develop new ways of enhancing Card Member experiences. Experience working with AI, agents, or emerging technologies is preferred, though a strong willingness to learn and apply these capabilities in a product context is also valued.

  • Own core end-to-end UI/UX flows, ensuring experiences are intuitive, cohesive, and aligned with customer needs.
  • Conduct market, customer, and competitive research to identify product opportunities and unmet needs.
  • Translate customer insights, business goals, and technical capabilities into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog based on customer impact, business value, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
  • Serve as the primary Product partner for Design, guiding user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and experience decisions.
  • Own the relationship with transaction and data teams to support data-driven product capabilities, integrations, and customer experiences.
  • Partner with Engineering and architecture teams to define technical solutions, APIs, dependencies, and scalable implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Business Development, Legal, Compliance, and Risk to support launches and ensure product readiness.
  • 4+ years of experience in product management, new product development, software engineering, or a related role.
  • Experience owning consumer-facing digital products from concept through launch.
  • Strong ability to define end-to-end customer journeys, UI/UX flows, product requirements, and delivery plans.
  • Experience working closely with Design to develop high-quality digital experiences.
  • Ability to partner effectively with Engineering, architecture, data, marketing, compliance, and business stakeholders.
  • Comfort working with technical teams on APIs, system architecture, integrations, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
  • Experience with or strong interest in AI, agents, personalization, or emerging AI-enabled product experiences.
  • Knowledge of Web3, blockchain, digital assets, digital identity, or related emerging technologies.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to align teams and drive decisions.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and bring structure to new product opportunities.
