Collaborate with suppliers of subsystems or individual parts throughout the design and manufacturing process. + Drive end-to-end discussions on system assembly process down-selection, prototyping, equipment and tooling needs for high precision assembly meeting mechanical, optical and reliability requirements. + Identify the root cause of design, manufacturing, or reliability issues and develop corrective actions. International travel to engineering builds to oversee mechanical validation, design, and assembly (~20%). + Balance design considerations such as functionality, sustainability, reliability, human factors, manufacturability, and aesthetics. Collaborate with JDM teams supporting part design. + Design for technical depth and innovative ideas. Solve issues associated with the product development path using creativity and smart designs.
