As a Mech Design Engr II here at Honeywell, you will design and develop cutting-edge mechanical solutions, ensuring high-quality and reliable products using your CAD proficiency and mechanical design expertise. You will report directly to our Sr Engineer Supervisor and you’ll work out of our Mexico City location on a Hybrid work schedule.
Join the Value Engineering / Component Engineering (VECE) group at Honeywell Smart Energy Americas as a Mechanical Engineer II and make a significant impact by delivering innovative mechanical solutions to improve product design, enhance manufacturing processes, and drive cost efficiency across our Smart Energy portfolio. Your contributions will be instrumental in strengthening product performance, delivering measurable savings, and ensuring products meet our high standards for quality, reliability, and sustainability.

You will report directly to the VECE Engineering Supervisor for Americas and collaborate in a dynamic, multi-cultural and cross-functional environment based in our Mexico City location, working on a hybrid schedule.

We need an experienced and curious engineer with a passion for engineering excellence, an eye for detail, and the ability to balance innovation with practicality.   • Deliver innovative and cost-effective mechanical solutions for product redesigns to optimize performance, efficiency, and manufacturability across the Smart Energy portfolio.
     
  • Utilize value engineering principles to reduce production costs while maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring compliance with industry and Honeywell norms.
     
  • Dive deep into critical analysis of mechanical processes to redefine workflows, reduce inefficiencies, and improve end-to-end product lifecycle performance.
     
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including R&D engineers, supply chain professionals, and manufacturing teams, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical changes.
     
  • Assist in mentoring junior engineers, contributing to the cultivation of technical expertise within the team, and staying updated on emerging industry technologies and trends.
     

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, product development, and/or manufacturing optimization
  • Skilled in 3D CAD modeling (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or Catia)
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM), Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and value engineering principles
  • Experience working with different materials and optimizing component costs without compromising quality
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with a proven ability to work in fast-paced environments
