Overview

Oracle Health is seeking an experienced Director of UX Design to lead the user experience strategy, design, and execution for our Revenue Cycle and Auto Reimbursement portfolio. This leader will shape the future of how healthcare organizations manage reimbursement by creating intelligent, intuitive, and connected experiences that reduce administrative burden, improve financial outcomes, and leverage AI to transform historically manual workflows.

This is not a traditional people management role. We are looking for a player-coach, someone who is an exceptional design practitioner, thrives in ambiguity, and is equally comfortable defining strategy, crafting experiences, mentoring designers, and partnering closely with Product and Engineering to deliver high-quality outcomes.

As AI fundamentally reshapes healthcare software, this leader will play a critical role in defining how intelligent assistance, automation, and human oversight work together to create trusted, efficient user experiences. You'll lead a talented design team while remaining deeply engaged in the work, setting a high bar for design craft, systems thinking, experimentation, and execution.

What You'll Do

  • Lead UX strategy and execution across Oracle Health's Revenue Cycle and Auto Reimbursement portfolio.
  • Define and communicate a compelling experience vision that aligns customer needs, business priorities, emerging AI capabilities, and technical constraints.
  • Reimagine traditional revenue cycle workflows by identifying opportunities where AI can automate, simplify, or augment historically manual tasks such as medical coding, documentation review, reimbursement recommendations, exception handling, and claim management, while ensuring users maintain confidence, transparency, and appropriate control.
  • Drive end-to-end design efforts, from discovery and concept development through detailed interaction design, validation, and delivery.
  • Serve as a hands-on design leader, actively contributing to complex design challenges while coaching and elevating the team's design quality.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Product Management, Engineering, Clinical stakeholders, Research, and Design to deliver integrated customer experiences.
  • Champion systems thinking by designing experiences that feel cohesive and seamless across multiple products, platforms, and technology stacks.
  • Partner closely with the Oracle Health Design System team to evolve reusable patterns, AI interaction models, and design standards that scale across the portfolio.
  • Establish design approaches that thoughtfully balance automation with human expertise, ensuring AI-enabled workflows are explainable, trustworthy, and easy to adopt.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation by rapidly prototyping, testing, and iterating on new interaction models and AI-enabled experiences.
  • Mentor and develop designers through thoughtful feedback, coaching, and career growth opportunities.
  • Influence senior leadership through compelling storytelling, strategic thinking, and data-informed design decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant experience leading UX teams within enterprise software, SaaS, healthcare technology, or other highly complex domains.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary design initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Exceptional interaction design, information architecture, and systems thinking skills.
  • Strong visual and UX craft with a portfolio demonstrating sophisticated product design.
  • Experience leading teams while remaining an active contributor to the design work.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across large, cross-functional organizations.
  • Experience designing for complex workflows that span multiple products, user roles, and technology platforms.
  • Experience working with and contributing to enterprise design systems.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and translate complex workflows into intuitive user experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing AI-enabled products or intelligent workflow solutions.
  • Experience designing healthcare technology, revenue cycle management, financial workflows, reimbursement, medical coding, or claims processing solutions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of human-AI interaction patterns, intelligent automation, decision support, and responsible AI design principles.
  • Experience designing across multiple products or platforms that require consistent, integrated user experiences.
  • Experience leading organizational change and helping teams adopt modern UX practices, design systems, and AI-enabled ways of working.

Leadership Expectations

This leader is expected to set the pace for both design excellence and modern ways of working.

Successful candidates will:

  • Be a highly engaged player-coach who leads through both execution and mentorship.
  • Maintain exceptional standards for design craft while moving quickly through ambiguity.
  • Embrace experimentation and continuously explore new methods, tools, and workflows that leverage AI to improve both product outcomes and team effectiveness.
  • Help establish new design practices that incorporate AI into research, ideation, prototyping, content generation, and design operations, enabling the team to work more efficiently without sacrificing quality or thoughtful design judgment.
  • Inspire curiosity and continuous learning by encouraging responsible experimentation with emerging AI capabilities across the organization.
  • Build trusted partnerships that align diverse stakeholders around a shared vision and execution strategy.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will:

  • Raise the overall quality and craft of the Revenue Cycle design organization.
  • Deliver intelligent, AI-enabled experiences that simplify complex reimbursement workflows while preserving user trust and confidence.
  • Help redefine legacy healthcare workflows through thoughtful automation rather than simply digitizing existing processes.
  • Create integrated experiences that feel cohesive regardless of the underlying technology stack.
  • Establish scalable design patterns for AI interactions and intelligent workflows that can be leveraged across Oracle Health.
  • Build a culture of experimentation where AI accelerates both how the team designs and what the team delivers.
  • Develop a high-performing design organization known for collaboration, innovation, execution, and measurable customer impact.
  • Shape the future of Oracle Health's Revenue Cycle experience through exceptional design leadership, systems thinking, and a relentless focus on solving meaningful customer problems.
