It’s real systems, at real scale, people solving some of the hardest challenges in technology today.We’re looking for people who want to build, solve, and operate at that level.Join us and let’s shape the future of data.Job DescriptionSupport departmental objectives and daily test operationsCoordinate Glide and TDS processes, including spec enhancement, process improvement, and special rescreen specificationsSupport continuous cost improvement initiatives related to test headsSupport continuous quality improvement initiatives especially analysis on customer returns.Drive continuous test process and quality system improvement (e.g. SMART Test, CAS)Coordinate Test Cell Controller processes, including recipe setup to meet product requirements and support engineering runsImprove product quality through early detection, prevention, and post‑test failure analysisSupport continuous improvement of test quality triggering systems and media yield without impacting HDD performanceEnsure all test process indicators, triggering limits, monitoring, and reaction plans are adequate and effectiveVerify, control, monitor, and propagate new processes and new equipment into PN TestCoordinate deployment and updates of test machine, robot, and tester softwareAssist engineers with daily operational support and special projectsEnsure compliance with ISO standards, documentation, safety rules, and cleanroom protocolsQualificationsDiploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related field).4-5 years’ working experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in process development and sustaining.Familiarity with basic software troubleshooting.Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (process flow, circuit diagram)Understanding of failure mechanisms and ability to isolate, detect, and correct process issues.Proficiency in using MS Windows Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting and documentation.Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment (Lockout/Tagout, PPE usage).Additional InformationPREFERRED:Experience with process trouble shooting.Exposure to statistical tools.SKILLS:Hands-on experience with test machine, robot, and tester softwareAbility to coordinate and verify software propagation and version controlExperience with Test Cell Controller systems, including recipe setup and validationBasic troubleshooting of software alarms, system errors, and configuration issuesAbility to work with process data, logs, and reportsCommunication – Ability to explain technical findings clearly to colleagues, engineers, and supervisors.Safety Awareness – Knowledge and practice of safe work procedures in industrial settings.Teamwork – Effective collaborator across production, engineering, and quality teams.Adaptability – Capable of handling emergencies, unexpected breakdowns, and evolving technologies.Continuous Learning – Willingness to learn new machines, processes, and emerging automation technologies.WD thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
