Accountabilities
- Lead and develop a CAD team responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining technical drawings and 3D models across new and legacy products, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Manage daily task allocation, workload prioritization, and scheduling to ensure deadlines for new product introductions and engineering changes are consistently met.
- Oversee engineering change management (ECM) and document control processes to ensure timely and accurate release of product documentation.
- Establish, monitor, and report on key performance metrics related to CAD output quality, productivity, and workflow efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to CAD standards, tools, and internal procedures while driving consistency across all design deliverables.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other departments to support product development and lifecycle management activities.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management of CAD team members to build technical capability and accountability.
- Contribute to process improvements and the development of new workflows in collaboration with leadership to enhance CAD operations.
- Maintain CAD content integrity across the product lifecycle, ensuring high-quality outputs in support of business and customer requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field preferred; equivalent CAD experience (10+ years) may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years of experience managing or supervising CAD teams in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in CAD tools and environments, including SolidWorks and PDM systems.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), ERP systems, and engineering documentation control processes.
- Demonstrated ability to track, analyze, and report operational metrics and team performance indicators.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint and Smartsheet.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under deadlines.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and guide technical teams effectively.
- High attention to detail, reliability, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability in delivering high-quality work.
- Competitive annual salary of approximately $109,000.
- Full-time, salaried position with exempt status.
