Accountabilities:
- Lead the card operations squad, ensuring delivery quality, operational efficiency, and achievement of team objectives.
- Manage daily financial reconciliation routines for card products, including issuer and acquirer operations, ensuring accurate financial and accounting positions.
- Monitor transaction volumes, settlements, balances, and operational performance indicators.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to authorization files, settlements, reversals, chargebacks, and payment flows from card networks and acquirers.
- Manage daily closing activities, reviewing financial balances and temporary accounts.
- Control payment schedules with card networks and monitor balances related to card issuing operations.
- Maintain operational relationships with acquiring partners and card networks.
- Collaborate with Treasury, Accounting, Product, and Technology teams to resolve inconsistencies and improve processes.
- Support monthly financial closing activities by ensuring all card-related financial events are properly reconciled.
- Design and implement financial workflows for new card operations and integrations.
- Participate in projects involving new card networks, products, and system implementations.
- Identify and lead automation opportunities using no-code, low-code, and artificial intelligence solutions.
- Develop management reports and present operational indicators to leadership and business stakeholders.
- Monitor regulatory and operational updates from payment networks and evaluate impacts on reconciliation processes.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Ensure process documentation, controls, and operational procedures are properly maintained.
- Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
- Previous experience working in payment institutions, financial services companies, or the payments ecosystem.
- Solid experience with card network and/or acquirer reconciliation processes.
- Proven experience managing card reconciliation activities.
- Knowledge of card issuer operational flows, including authorization, settlement, chargebacks, and financial events.
- Strong understanding of financial reconciliation routines using ERP systems.
- Solid knowledge of accounting and financial processes.
- Experience with external card reconciliation platforms and operational tools.
- Familiarity with applying artificial intelligence solutions to financial processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage priorities, coordinate stakeholders, and drive process improvements.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across business and technical teams.
- Postgraduate degree or MBA in Finance or related areas.
- Knowledge of SQL and Metabase.
- Experience working with Databricks.
- Experience building automation initiatives for financial operations.
