As a Field Service Engineer, the Service Engineer is responsible for the successful high-quality delivery of their assigned projects and service work. This requires preparing, planning, executing and controlling all aspects of the project and service delivery directly. They are responsible for servicing customer sites, maximizing customer satisfaction and minimizing customer site downtime by providing exceptional delivery and support. Delivery of reactive and planned works, along with upgrades or replacements on live operational sites are key aspects of the job scope.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To keep abreast and maintenance of sites and customer needs by continued development of customer relationships
  • Providing technical support to peers, which may include other technical representatives, Account Managers, Engineers etc.
  • Identifying sales and service opportunities
  • To keep technical knowledge current – may require additional activities, such as self-learning on technical products
  • Keep customer fully informed of possible system enhancements and upgrade paths

 

Key Experience & Capabilities:

  • A degree or considerable experience in an Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, and Mechatronic or similar Engineering field or trade.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in BMS/HVAC with Niagara systems
  • A comprehensive understanding of BMS systems, control theory, plant operation, tuning and fault-finding including diagnostics
  • Electronic security will also be highly regarded
  • Strong customer relation skills with commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Ability to communicate complex issues with clarity, both in written and verbally
  • Ability to work under pressure and capacity to deliver against multiple objectives
  • Collaborative attitude with a customer focused mind set
  • Ability to identify technical solutions to customer business needs
  • Ability to travel to support other teams in central and lower North Island
