Core Competencies
- Critical Risk Identification: Experience in analysing operational, project, and maintenance activities to identify hazards, unwanted events, and potentially fatal consequences associated with JLL’s business lines (PDS, WPM, PM).
- Control Verification & Assurance: Experience in identifying critical controls, assessing their vulnerability, and identifying the critical assurance activities that are required to ensure the controls are reliable.
- Incident Investigation & Operational Learning: Experience in extracting insights from incidents and high-potential near-misses to update risk assessments and drive continual improvement.
- Performance Metrics & Reporting: Working knowledge of the purpose and design of leading and lagging safety performance indicators, including the collation of data and the calculation of metrics (particularly in relation to the discipline in completing critical control assurance activities).
- Field Verification: Skill in coordinating with operations teams to plan and execute interventions (deep dives) into operational, project, and maintenance activities to verify the presence and effectiveness of critical controls, promote good practices and identify any: local constraints in complying with APAC critical risk requirements (particularly in relation to resource allocation for completion of critical control assurance activities), unsafe deviations from requirements, and lessons/insights that improve JLL’s understanding of the risk.
- Contemporary Safety Management: Willingness to expand knowledge in contemporary safety management approaches, operational risk management, and emerging good practices in high-risk industries.
Technical Skills
- Able to identify in hazard identification for both occupational and operational/process safety risks (e.g., live electricity, confined spaces, hazardous chemicals, working at height).
- Experienced in preparation and review of risk assessments, HIRAs, JSAs, and SWMS.
- Working knowledge of permit-to-work system design and implementation.
- Working knowledge of control failure analysis and identification of assurance and verification activities, including the need for routine inspection and preventive maintenance for critical controls.
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential: bachelor’s degree in engineering, safety, or equivalent discipline.
- Essential: experience in construction, facility, or property management environments with exposure to high-risk work and assets.
- Preferred: recognized qualification in safety management or risk management.
- Preferred: experience in implementing and assuring critical control management systems in complex, multicultural environments.
