Accountabilities
- Conduct initial sourcing of potential acquisition targets across Europe and the US using digital research tools, databases, marketplaces, and online intelligence platforms.
- Perform deep qualitative evaluation of target companies, analyzing business models, ownership structures, capabilities, and strategic fit.
- Apply strong filtering and prioritization to identify a small number of high-conviction acquisition opportunities.
- Develop clear and structured deal briefs summarizing strategic fit, risks, and rationale for each shortlisted target.
- Support founder-to-founder outreach by drafting professional, well-structured initial communication for executive review.
- Maintain and refine opportunity pipelines, ensuring only relevant, high-quality prospects progress to leadership review.
- Build broader market maps and industry overviews to support long-term M&A strategy development.
- Collaborate directly with the CEO to align sourcing efforts with strategic acquisition priorities.
- 3+ years of experience in roles involving structured deal sourcing, investment research, M&A origination, venture capital, private equity, strategic sourcing, or procurement.
- Strong business judgment with the ability to quickly assess company quality and strategic fit beyond surface-level data.
- Advanced research skills, including experience using LinkedIn, databases, industry directories, and web intelligence tools.
- High proficiency in written English with the ability to produce clear, structured, and analytical business summaries.
- Comfortable using AI tools, automation platforms, or data-driven workflows to accelerate research and sourcing activities.
- Strong autonomy and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to evaluate both qualitative and quantitative information.
- Prior experience in market mapping, investment pipelines, or structured sourcing environments is considered a plus.
- Familiarity with CRM systems or pipeline management tools is an advantage.
- Flexible, part-time freelance arrangement (0–20 hours per week, average ~10 hours).
- Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $20 to $60 USD depending on experience.
