Job Summary:

The role translates different inputs such as opportunity pipeline, bookings history, and market signals into a single consensus demand plan that feeds the Master Production Schedule (MPS). This role requires close alignment with the Commercial team, Finance, and Master Scheduler. The Demand Planner will be responsible for working with the Commercial team in identifying and applying all relevant inputs to generate the rolling 12-month demand plan, which will subsequently be used in generating the MPS. Key Responsibilities:
Demand Forecast Ownership:
- Own the rolling 12-month demand forecast, integrating historical bookings, opportunity pipeline, and Commercial Business input into a single consensus demand signal
- Translate opportunity-stage pipeline data from the Commercial Business team into probability-weighted demand by product family, configuration, and customer segment
- Work closely with the Commercial team to identify, understand, and document the assumptions used in generating the 12-month demand forecast
- Track and report forecast accuracy and bias by horizon, product family, and customer; drive root-cause when accuracy drifts
- Provide the single demand signal that serves both operational and financial planning views, supporting the Supply Chain Leader’s IBP cycle and eliminating divergence between Ops and Finance numbers
Demand Review & Commercial Partnership:
- Lead the regular Demand Review with Commercial Business leadership to validate assumptions and lock the committed forecast that enters SIOP
- Serve as the primary planning interface to the Commercial Business team for forecast inputs, pipeline conversion assumptions, and demand-side scenarios
- Challenge Commercial projections with data when not supported by the numbers
Statistical Forecasting & Demand Sensing:
- Apply statistical forecasting methods, regression, and demand modeling to historical and pipeline data
- Continuously refine forecast models based on accuracy, bias, and changing market signals
- Develop and maintain probabilistic demand scenarios for high-uncertainty opportunities and new product introductions
- Deliver the consensus demand plan to the Master Scheduler on the defined SIOP cadence
- Receive feedback from the Master Scheduler on demand achievability against capacity and supply constraints; work with the Master Scheduler on revising Customer Commitment dates if necessary
- Surface emerging demand patterns, risks, or upside early so the Master Scheduler can adjust the supply plan ahead of execution
Data, Reporting & System Stewardship:
- Partner with the System Data team to build and maintain demand and forecast dashboards in D365 and Power BI
- Own the integrity of demand and forecast data in D365: forecast records, customer/product hierarchies, planning bills relevant to demand
- Maintain demand-side SIOP KPIs: Forecast Accuracy, Forecast Bias, Demand Plan Attainment, and pipeline conversion rates
Required:
- 3–5+ years in demand planning, forecasting, or commercial analytics in a manufacturing or B2B environment; ETO or complex configured-to-order experience preferred
- Statistical forecasting methods, regression, and demand modeling
- Hands-on proficiency with an enterprise ERP planning suite; D365 (Microsoft Dynamics 365) preferred
- Advanced Excel; working proficiency with Power BI
- Strong partnership skills — comfortable challenging Commercial leadership with data while maintaining productive working relationships
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business Analytics, or related field — or equivalent demonstrated experience
Preferred:
- CPIM or CSCP certification from ASCM (formerly APICS)
- Direct experience with D365 demand planning or planning optimization modules
- SIOP / IBP experience in a project-driven, low-volume / high-mix ETO business
- Experience building Power BI dashboards in partnership with a data engineering / BI team
