About Zipline
Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.
Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.
Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.
We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.
About You and The Role
Zipline operates and maintains autonomous aircraft systems that enable reliable instant deliveries to customers. As an Aviation Maintenance Technician, you will keep aircraft and associated systems maintained, documented, and ready for safe operation.
You will own scheduled and unscheduled maintenance within approved procedures, resolving routine issues and escalating conditions outside manuals or certification limits to engineering and flight operations. Strong performance means accurate maintenance, complete records, and timely handoffs that support aircraft availability, airworthiness, and reliable service.
What You'll Do
• Execute scheduled and unscheduled UAS maintenance under Zipline’s Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program, General Maintenance Manual, and FAA regulations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software-related aircraft-system faults using manufacturer manuals and approved maintenance procedures.
• Repair or replace aircraft-system components and verify work meets approved procedures before returning equipment to service.
• Travel within the service area to perform on-site maintenance of Zipline aircraft systems.
• Maintain complete, accurate records for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, component replacements, and discrepancies.
• Resolve maintenance issues within approved procedures; escalate non-routine conditions or issues outside certification limits to engineering and flight operations.
• Communicate maintenance status and unresolved aircraft conditions to flight operations and engineering for clear operational handoffs.
What You'll Bring
• Foundational engineering knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and software systems, including the ability to isolate faults using procedures and technical documentation.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical integration, assembly, precision work, and hand tools.
• Ability to interpret and follow procedure manuals, training materials, manufacturer instructions, and operational procedures.
• Prior aircraft maintenance, UAS maintenance, automotive, autonomous systems, or similar technician experience is preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 80% during your first month for training, then 5–10% as needed within the service area.
• Availability for shift work, including days, evenings, and weekends, and ability to lift or move up to 55 pounds.
• A valid U.S. driver’s license, eligibility for FAA Repairman Certification, and ability to meet safety-sensitive drug and alcohol testing requirements.
