We are seeking a strategic, highly organized, people-centred, and collaborative leader to serve as Senior Manager, Sustainability Reporting. This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of sustainability reporting processes, with a particular focus on process documentation and improvement, strategic management, stakeholder management, and leading a strong team through continued innovation of the reporting operating model.

The successful candidate will play a central role in strengthening the Bank’s sustainability reporting operating model by documenting key processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and control and ensuring cross-functional alignment on priorities, timelines, and reporting expectations. This role requires a strong ability to bring structure to complexity, translate strategic objectives into execution plans, build productive relationships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, and coach, support, and grow a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Management

  • Support the development and evolution of the Bank’s sustainability reporting strategy, including recommendations on reporting approach, structure, content priorities, and governance.

  • Translate strategic direction into clear annual reporting plans, priorities, and execution roadmaps.

  • Monitor developments in sustainability reporting standards, peer practices, stakeholder expectations, and regulatory requirements, and assess implications for the Bank’s reporting approach.

  • Advise leadership on strategic trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and opportunities related to reporting decisions and timelines.

  • Contribute to the development of executive-ready materials, including presentations, briefing notes, and recommendations related to sustainability reporting priorities and improvements.

  • Help shape a reporting function that is scalable, proactive, and aligned to enterprise priorities and risk appetite, with a focus on efficient reporting cycles, strong disclosures and performance.

2. Process Documentation and Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the documentation, maintenance, and ongoing refinement of sustainability reporting processes, procedures, controls, and supporting materials.

  • Establish and sustain clear, standardized, and well-governed reporting processes that support consistency, transparency, audit readiness, and effective execution.

  • Identify process gaps, pain points, and control opportunities, and develop practical improvement plans to enhance efficiency, reduce rework, and strengthen governance.

  • Drive lessons-learned reviews following major reporting cycles and translate findings into actionable process improvements.

  • Partner with relevant teams to improve integration across content, data, assurance, legal, regulatory, and approval workflows.

3. Stakeholder Management

  • Build and manage strong relationships across a broad network of internal stakeholders, including business lines, subject matter experts, Legal, Risk, Finance, Communications, Investor Relations, and senior leadership.

  • Lead complex, cross-functional engagement processes involving multiple contributors, reviewers, and approvers across the enterprise.

  • Navigate competing priorities and conflicting feedback with diplomacy, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Support leadership engagement by ensuring senior stakeholders are appropriately informed, prepared, and brought into the process at the right times.

4. Team Leadership and Execution

  • Provide supportive, inclusive, and growth-oriented leadership, coaching, and direction to team members supporting the sustainability reporting program.

  • Oversee project execution against key milestones, ensuring strong coordination, issue resolution, and progress tracking.

  • Create an environment of high performance, continuous improvement, shared accountability, psychological safety, and talent development, where a strong team is supported to grow, take ownership, and build new capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business, sustainability, communications, public policy, finance, or a related field; postgraduate education is an asset.

  • Significant experience in sustainability reporting, ESG disclosure, corporate reporting, governance, regulatory reporting, or a related function within a complex organization.

  • Experience leading strong teams – developing, supporting, coaching, and championing talent, while creating the conditions for team members to grow and do their best work

  • Strong experience designing, documenting, improving, and governing enterprise processes.

  • Experience identifying opportunities to simplify delivery through automation, AI-enabled ways of working, or internal capability building is an asset

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholder groups and senior leaders.

  • Strong strategic thinking skills, including the ability to connect big-picture objectives with detailed execution requirements.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and influencing skills.

  • Strong project management capabilities, including planning, issue management, prioritization, and execution discipline.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into clear and actionable messages.

  • Sound judgment and comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving, and high-visibility environment.
