Accountabilities:

    The Senior Environmental Technical Lead will provide technical leadership across environmental restoration and remediation programs, supporting project execution, quality assurance, client engagement, and team development. This role requires deep expertise in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, and remediation practices, along with the ability to independently manage technical workstreams and contribute to business growth.

    • Provide senior technical expertise for environmental investigation, restoration, remediation, and compliance projects involving CERCLA, RCRA, PFAS, HTRW, MMRP, and other environmental programs.
    • Lead and support technical investigations with minimal oversight, including planning, field execution, data interpretation, and remediation strategy development.
    • Support field activities such as drilling oversight, well installation, groundwater monitoring, sampling, aquifer testing, and remediation implementation.
    • Prepare, review, and provide technical quality assurance for environmental deliverables, including investigation reports, work plans, remedial planning documents, conceptual site models, monitoring reports, and quality assurance plans.
    • Develop and evaluate hydrogeologic interpretations, contaminant fate and transport assessments, and environmental models to support project decisions.
    • Create and review 3D environmental and hydrogeologic models using industry tools such as Earth Volumetric Studio (EVS) or provide technical oversight for modeling activities.
    • Mentor junior scientists, engineers, geologists, and field personnel to strengthen technical capabilities and promote professional growth.
    • Coordinate with project managers, technical teams, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Provide technical presentations, project updates, and recommendations to clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
    • Support proposal development through technical approaches, scopes of work, cost estimates, and responses to government and commercial opportunities.
    • Collaborate with safety and quality teams to ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and technical standards.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced environmental professional with extensive consulting, remediation, and technical leadership experience. You should have strong expertise in environmental restoration projects, the ability to manage complex assignments independently, and the communication skills needed to collaborate with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams.

      • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
      • 15+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, restoration, remediation, geology, hydrogeology, engineering, or related technical project support; 20+ years preferred.
      • Minimum 10 years of field experience supporting environmental investigations and remediation projects, including leadership responsibilities.
      • Strong technical background in areas such as hazardous and radioactive waste, PFAS and emerging contaminants, CERCLA/Superfund, RCRA corrective actions, groundwater investigations, remediation, or environmental compliance.
      • Experience supporting multidisciplinary technical teams and mentoring early-career professionals.
      • Experience overseeing drilling, sampling, and remediation subcontractors.
      • Ability to interpret geological and hydrogeological conditions and support conceptual site model development.
      • Experience supporting federal government clients such as DoD, USACE, USAF, USN, EPA, USFS, or BIA is preferred.
      • Experience contributing to proposals, technical approaches, and project scopes is highly valued.
      • Strong technical writing, document review, and verbal communication skills.
      • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
      • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced environment.
      • Professional licensure such as Professional Geologist (PG), Registered Professional Geologist, or Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
      • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training with current refresher preferred.
      • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training preferred.
      • USACE Construction Quality Management training or additional environmental certifications are advantageous.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and environmental data management or visualization tools.
      • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record required.
      • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
      • Ability to obtain access clearance for military bases and federal government facilities.
