Responsibilities
The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator independently performs core regulatory compliance support services for the Standard and Alternative Market Segment Compliance Teams of W.R. Berkley Corporation, supporting businesses with timely and efficient completion of compliance processes, data calls, and documentation of compliance activities.
• Assist with receipt and routing of consumer complaints and other regulatory inquiries, support operating units with research and development of responses, monitor due dates for timely submission, review responses for completeness and compliance, submit to Corporate Compliance for final submission, and confirm completion of any necessary corrective actions by operating units.• Support senior compliance analyst in fielding inquiries from regulators, determining the applicable Segment operating unit, and preparing responses and/or coordinating corrective actions.• Handle data calls involving Standard and Alternative Segment companies, including maintaining the data call schedule, issuing requests to operating units, aggregating and validating operating unit data, submitting information to regulatory entities, and resolving regulator inquiries.• Monitor bureau reporting websites and NCCI for edit/error reports and criticisms impacting workers’ compensation policies and unit statistical reporting, disseminate reports and criticisms to applicable operating units, manage receipt and payment of fines and assessment invoices, receive claim criticisms or inquiries, determine the applicable operating unit, confirm corrective actions taken, and pay applicable fine invoices.• Assist with monitoring monthly Bridger status reports to identify overdue alerts, investigate potential system issues or operating unit deficiencies, and assist operating units with policyholder and claimant screening, including escalation of alerts to Corporate Compliance when necessary.• Manage the RRE recertification process for Standard and Alternative Segment RREs, including confirming that each RRE is still active, validating current contact information, and submitting executed recertification forms to CMS.• Receive and route service of process and similar mail for Standard and Alternative Segment companies, execute proxies on behalf of the Segment Compliance Officer, and perform other related paper management tasks.• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Segment Compliance Team and the businesses it serves.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation requirements, regulations and reporting processes highly preferred.• Some insurance-related experience preferred.• Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.• Ability to exercise sound professional judgment.• Detail-oriented, accurate, organized, able to work under time constraints, and self-motivated.• Strong analytical skills highly preferred.• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners.• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to successfully work with a variety of personality types to achieve desired results.• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Education Requirement
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.• Insurance designations (ASLI, CPCU, etc.) or college-level coursework preferred.
