Job Summary: Join our Columbus Forge team as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, where you'll play a critical role in protecting the environment while supporting the production of world-class aerospace components. In this hands-on position, you'll operate and maintain the site's industrial wastewater treatment facility, ensuring environmental compliance, safe operations, and reliable plant performance. This is a 1st Shift position: Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (hours flexible)

What You Will Do:

  • Operate and monitor industrial wastewater treatment systems, including pumps, valves, controls, and sludge processing equipment, to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Collect samples, perform required testing, and maintain accurate operational records to support environmental permit requirements.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and adjust treatment processes to optimize plant performance and resolve operational issues.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, preventive maintenance activities, and safe operation of powered industrial equipment, including forklifts.
  • Support daily plant operations through teamwork, continuous improvement, required training, and adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) standards.

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in wastewater treatment, environmental operations, water treatment, industrial utilities, manufacturing operations, chemical processing, equipment operation, or a related technical field.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Currently holds current Wastewater or Industrial license
  • Experience operating wastewater treatment systems or working in an industrial, manufacturing, or regulated environment.
  • Technical degree, certification, or coursework in wastewater treatment, environmental science, industrial technology, or a related field.
  • Experience maintaining operational records, compliance documentation, and following established procedures.
  • Strong understanding of environmental and safety requirements with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
