We are hiring for Health Unit Coordinator position at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK!

Position is part-time, 0.5 FTE, Day Shift, 20 hours per week.

Under supervision this position is a key multi-skilled position within the units. Collaborates with team members to coordinate unit activities and flow of information between teams and other entities. Coordinates and facilitates movement of patients through work area. Provides technical support to the department by maintaining equipment, ordering supplies and stocking all areas that require equipment. Maintains a safe, hazard free and clean environment which facilitates quality patient focused care. Cross trains within the division to support needs of other units within division.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Completion of a Medical Terminology course within 90 days of hire.
        

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Pharmacology.    
  • Coursework/Training: Satisfactory completion of Health Unit Coordinator training.
  • Upon hire: Certified Health Unit Coordinator - National Association of Health Unit Coordinators.   
  • 6 months experience in health care activities or institutional setting.
