Sygaldry Technologies is building quantum-accelerated AI servers to exponentially speed up training and inference. About the Role
We're building novel hardware at the intersection of quantum physics, engineering, and AI. That means what sits underneath matters: security that protects novel IP, identity and IT systems that keep a fast-growing team productive, and networking that connects labs and offices across sites. This role owns all of it.
You'll be a player-coach: hands-on across identity, endpoint, and security operations, growing into director-level leadership of the IT and security function as we scale. You own the security roadmap, from zero trust and endpoint protection to compliance readiness, and you're the one making sure it all works, stays secure, and scales with us. You won't be doing it alone: you'll work with strong senior contractors and grow the team, including future full-time hires.
What You'll Own
Corporate IT & Endpoint Management:
MFA, IdP, MDM, BDR across our physical and cloud fleet
User on/off boarding policy and enforcement
Laptop and workstations procurement and lifecycle management
Accessories procurement, inventory management
Roles, groups, access control management
Annual budget management
Security & Compliance:
SSO, MFA, SIEM, EDR, and Zero Trust Access across our physical and cloud infrastructure
Physical security systems (access card, cameras, security systems)
SOC 2 readiness
Incident response and technical business continuity policies
AI tool governance: owning the policy for which tools we trust and how we use them
Technical enforcement of export control policies
Across Everything:
Documentation that makes systems maintainable by others
Ownership of vendor relationships
Audit and monitoring of policies
You May Be a Good Fit If You
Think in systems: you see how identity, endpoints, network, and cloud fit together as one security surface
Are curious and rigorous: you question assumptions and validate with evidence
Move fast and build things: perfect is the enemy of done
Take ownership: when something's broken, you own it to resolution
Write things down: documentation is how your work scales
Communicate clearly and assume good intent
Strong Candidates May Have
Built or significantly matured IT and security at a small, fast-growing company; ideally hardware or deeptech
Taken a company to SOC 2 or a comparable framework from scratch
Selected and managed long term relationships with external vendors
Deep identity experience: Integration of IdP and SSO with 3rd party SAS providers.
Run zero trust architectures (Cloudflare, Zscaler, or similar) and operated EDR and SIEM tooling
Managed Apple-primary fleets with MDM (Iru/Kandji, Jamf, Mosyle, or similar)
Led small teams or directed contractors as a player-coach
