At OBT Group, the Group Business Process Specialist plays a key role in strengthening and standardizing shipping operations and agency processes across the group to support efficient and scalable maritime activities. The role focuses on analyzing and improving end-to-end operational workflows such as vessel handling, port calls, and agency coordination to enhance efficiency, compliance, and service quality.
The position works closely with shipping operations teams and stakeholders to identify gaps, streamline processes, and implement best practices, while also supporting operational system implementation and ensuring alignment with maritime procedures and standards.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, professional judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment while contributing to the company’s operational excellence, process optimization, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements
- Strong understanding of shipping operations and maritime workflows, including vessel, port, and agency processes.
- Experience in analyzing and improving operational processes, workflows, and service delivery in a maritime or logistics environment.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a practical, operational mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in shipping operations, port/agency operations, or maritime logistics, ideally with exposure to process improvement.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end shipping processes (e.g., port calls, vessel coordination, documentation, cargo operations).
- Experience supporting or participating in system implementation or operational change initiatives is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in international, fast-paced operational environments.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize shipping operations and business processes to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Work with shipping operations teams and stakeholders to identify gaps, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, workflows, and process documentation aligned with operational shipping activities.
- Support implementation of operational systems and tools used in shipping and agency operations.
- Act as a key stakeholder in rolling out new operational systems across departments.
- Monitor operational performance and prepare reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure processes comply with company standards, industry practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Support training, change management, and adoption of new operational procedures across teams.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve shipping operations, efficiency, and service quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation of process updates and operational improvements.
- Perform other duties as required.
