The Lead Consumer Vibrancy is part of the Commercial Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C) team within Marktplaats / 2eHands. Your overarching goal is to help Marktplaats/2ehands to be the preferred (r)ecommerce platform in the Netherlands and Belgium. To this goal, he/she promotes the vibrancy (marketplace liquidity) for Marktplaats for C2C users (e.g. non-SMB, non-motors), measured in the number of listings and number of trades on the platform.
Marktplaats has been the preferred (r)ecommerce platform in the Netherlands and Belgium for years in several categories. The vibrancy of the platform is an important prerequisite for the success of the platform, including the business-to-consumer (B2C) and mobility business lines.
In this role, she/he reports to the Chief Growth Officer (member of the LT) and works cross-functionally between the commercial C2C team, Product, and Marketing.

Analytics & Insights
- Turn internal and external data into clear strategic insights by identifying performance gaps, growth opportunities, and underlying drivers in close collaboration with Product, Business Analytics, and Finance
- Contribute to shaping the analytical backbone of decision-making by working with Business Analytics and Finance to define the right dashboards, metrics, and data models to track progress and inform trade-offs
- Build and validate robust business cases that inform strategic investments, prioritization, and long-term bets.
Strategy & Initiatives
- Think 2–3 years ahead: anticipate shifts in customer behavior, technology (e.g. AI), and competition, and translate them into strategic recommendations.
- Analyze key platform dynamics (segments, categories, liquidity, vibrancy) to identify opportunities and lead the development of actionable improvement proposals with cross-functional teams.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, Pricing, and Group peers to shape inputs to strategy in both structured planning cycles (e.g. Long Term Plan) and fast, ad-hoc responses to competitive moves.
Project Ownership & Cross-functional Coordination
- Own and drive high-impact, cross-functional initiatives across C2C Commercial, Product, and Marketing - from problem definition through execution.
- Coordinate stakeholders to ensure clarity, momentum, and delivery, while navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Contribute to roadmap and planning decisions, and where needed, mobilize adjacent teams (e.g. Search, Data Science) to unlock performance improvements.
Who you are
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Project management experience with an ability to drive initiatives to completion
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication skills. Experience working with (or in) Product teams or matrix organizations is preferred
- Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to work with large, complex datasets, identify patterns and opportunities, and translate data into actionable business insights. Comfortable leveraging analytics and visualisation tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Experience with business-to-consumer or consumer-to-consumer platforms and/or (r)ecommerce companies is preferred
