Delivery Operations Manager, Uber Direct ANZ
About the Team
Uber Direct is changing the way delivery is done around the world. We allow brands to leverage Uber’s fleet of delivery partners to offer world leading speed and reliability for orders made through their existing websites or apps.
We have developed Partnerships with Merchants across a variety of verticals, including Restaurants and Retail, and are only just getting started. Uber Direct will change the way consumers shop in ANZ bringing a new level of convenience and reliability that helps people get almost almost anything where and when they want.
We are looking for the right person to join the ANZ Uber Direct Operations team in the Delivery Operations role. You will lead product rollouts to improve unit economics and reliability, conduct data analysis to identify opportunities to improve the marketplace efficiency and execute on strategic projects.
This is a highly cross functional role, where success depends on having strong problem solving skills and communication skills. You’ll need to be willing to roll up your sleeves and work in a fast paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the development and optimization of marketplace dynamics - balancing reliability, courier supply, and profitability outcomes
- Design and implement new processes to enhance delivery operations
- Own the delivery product roadmap, partnering with global and regional teams to roll out new product capabilities and experiments
- Monitor operational performance of Uber Direct, conducting deep-dive analyses to identify opportunities across marketplace efficiency
- Drive end-to-end project management of strategic initiatives to improve the delivery experience and marketplace efficiency
- Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Product, Data Science, Finance) to develop and execute pricing strategies that drive sustainable growth
- Support day-to-day management of the Uber Direct product, with a particular focus on continuous optimization
What You’ll Need:
- A proven track record - You'll have 3+ years of business management, analytics or operations experience in a dynamic environment.
- A self-starter who thrives on solving complex problems: Uber Direct is a complex product and there are a lot new challenges to solve
- Proactivity - A willingness to deeply understand all aspects of the delivery experience, you are always looking for continuous improvement opportunities and you are able to build, optimize and improve processes to achieve better results with less
- Strong stakeholder management skills to work cross functionally and build effective relationships in a fast-paced working environment
- Strong operational and data analytical aptitude, including SQL
- Commercial and business acumen - You have a strong understanding of how businesses and organizations work together to achieve their goals
- Project management skills - with the support of your manager you will need to be able to manage a project from start to end
- Previous experience in last-mile (shipper or carrier side) or general logistics is a plus, but not required.
