About the Role
Responsible for the strategic sourcing, procurement, inventory management, and operational coordination of non-human primates (NHPs) to support preclinical studies. Ensures regulatory compliance, animal welfare, and seamless study execution through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
What You'll Do Here
Source and procure NHPs from domestic and international suppliers
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, pricing, and performance
Forecast supply and mitigate procurement risks
Oversee animal inventory systems and ensure data accuracy
Plan and forecast colony needs to meet study timelines
Coordinate import/export, quarantine, and transportation logistics
Ensure compliance with AWA, USDA, GLP, and IACUC requirements
Support audits, inspections, and regulatory readiness
Coordinate inter-site transfers and study scheduling
Partner with veterinary, scientific, and operational teams
Oversee animal selection, screening, and study readiness
Maintain procurement records, reporting, and dashboards
Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies
What You Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Animal Science, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent experience and education to fulfill essential job duties.
Minimum 5+ years in procurement, inventory, or preclinical operations; experience with laboratory animals preferred.
MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
Language(s) Skills:
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and industry specific manuals.
Ability to write advanced reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Other Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Well-developed interpersonal skills are required.
Personal/professional integrity and proven discretion in handling confidential information.
Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities.
Must be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.
Relevant industry experience a plus.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with GLP, AWA, USDA, and IACUC standards.
What We Offer
The salary range estimated for this position is $105,000 - $150,000. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
