We are seeking an experienced Director – Cloud Security to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of enterprise-wide cloud security initiatives. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in securing large-scale cloud environments and modern containerized platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cloud Security and Kubernetes, along with proven expertise in building high-performing security teams, defining security standards, and partnering with engineering, infrastructure, and compliance stakeholders.

As a Director, you will drive the organization's cloud security vision, establish security best practices across multi-cloud environments, and ensure secure software delivery through automation, governance, and continuous risk management. You will play a critical role in safeguarding cloud-native applications, Kubernetes clusters, APIs, and enterprise infrastructure while enabling engineering teams to innovate securely.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the organization's cloud security strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Design and implement secure architectures across public and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Lead the security strategy for Kubernetes platforms, containerized applications, and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Establish governance frameworks, security policies, and cloud security standards across engineering teams.
  • Drive security automation initiatives, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security, policy enforcement, and continuous compliance.
  • Partner with engineering, DevOps, platform, and infrastructure teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Build and mentor high-performing cloud security and platform security teams.
  • Oversee cloud identity and access management, network security, secrets management, and encryption strategies.
  • Lead cloud security risk assessments, vulnerability management, threat modeling, and incident response planning.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory frameworks while continuously improving the organization's security posture.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud security technologies and recommend strategic investments to strengthen enterprise security.
  • Present security strategies, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 16–25 years of experience in information security, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or cybersecurity leadership.
  • Significant experience leading enterprise cloud security programs across large-scale organizations.
  • Proven track record of leading technical teams and driving organization-wide security transformation initiatives.

Must-Have Skills

  • Deep expertise in Cloud Security, including cloud architecture, identity management, workload protection, network security, encryption, and cloud governance.
  • Strong hands-on experience securing Kubernetes environments, container orchestration platforms, and cloud-native workloads.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust architecture and cloud security best practices.
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD security, DevSecOps, and security automation.
  • Expertise in container security, runtime protection, secrets management, and Kubernetes policy enforcement.
  • Experience with cloud security monitoring, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Strong knowledge of IAM, RBAC, network segmentation, API security, and identity federation.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, or NIST.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and strategic planning skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, AWS Security Specialty, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), or equivalent.
  • Experience with security tooling including SIEM, CSPM, CWPP, CNAPP, container image scanning, and Kubernetes security platforms.
  • Exposure to multi-cloud environments and large-scale cloud migration initiatives.
  • Experience working with executive leadership on enterprise security strategy and governance.
