The UMGEA – Global Analytics team is seeking an Analyst to support the Merchant Onboarding Analytics portfolio. This role will leverage advanced analytics to drive insights across the end-to-end merchant onboarding journey by designing, developing, and scaling analytics solutions and data products. The Analyst will analyze onboarding performance, merchant risk profiles, financial crime prevention, operational efficiency, and product capabilities across global markets to identify trends, quantify business opportunities, and influence strategic decision making.
The role will partner closely with Merchant Onboarding, Servicing, and Technology teams to translate complex business questions into scalable analytical solutions, deliver actionable insights, and enable data-driven decision making. The position will also contribute to modernizing merchant analytics by leveraging automation, GenAI-powered capabilities, and innovative analytical approaches to improve operational effectiveness, accelerate merchant onboarding, and enhance the merchant experience.
- Design, develop, and own analytics solutions and data products that provide end-to-end visibility into the merchant onboarding journey.
- Analyze onboarding performance, merchant risk profiles, financial crime prevention, operational efficiency, and product capabilities to identify trends, opportunities, and business insights.
- Perform deep-dive analyses to uncover root causes, evaluate business performance, and recommend data-driven solutions.
- Partner with Merchant Onboarding, Servicing, Technology, and business teams to translate business needs into impactful analytical solutions.
- Develop interactive Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards, and analytical assets that enable data-driven decision making across global markets.
- Drive automation and modernization initiatives by leveraging GenAI-powered capabilities and innovative analytical approaches.
- Communicate analytical insights, business impact, and strategic recommendations to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in an analytical domain.
- Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business problems into scalable data and analytical solutions.
- Strong collaboration skills with the confidence to influence, challenge assumptions, and build productive relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analytical insights to business stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Technical Skills: SQL, Power BI, Google BigQuery, Python, and Tableau
- Knowledge of merchant data, merchant onboarding, or the payments ecosystem is preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise GenAI tools and AI-assisted analytical workflows, including prompt engineering, is preferred.
Academic Background
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Postgraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Management, or a related quantitative discipline is a plus.
