Research Assistant I - Cell Developmental & Regenerative Biology

The Research Assistant will support ongoing projects in the laboratory focused on microglial immune responses and neuroinflammation. Working under the supervision of a senior postdoctoral fellow, the student will assist with day-to-day experimental activities involving human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)–derived microglia.

  • Maintain and assist with mammalian cell culture
  • Prepare culture media and laboratory reagents
  • Support differentiation and maintenance of iPSC-derived cell types
  • Assist with experiments examining microglial inflammatory responses
  • Prepare stimulation conditions and collect experimental samples
  • Perform basic biochemical and molecular assays
  • Support immunostaining and microscopy-based imaging experiments
  • Prepare samples for downstream analyses
  • Assist with general laboratory organization and workflow
  • Maintain lab supplies and inventory
  • Support reagent preparation and lab upkeep
  • Document experimental procedures and record results in electronic lab notebooks
  • Participate in regular lab meetings
  • Receive training in experimental design, data organization, and biomedical research best practices
  • Education: HS/GED
