Job Description:

The Director of IT Business Application Services leads the strategic planning, development, and implementation of business application services across the enterprise. This senior leadership role is responsible for establishing operational objectives, developing policies, and creating procedures that ensure optimal application performance and reliability. The position oversees multiple functional areas through subordinate managers and plays a critical role in aligning technology resources with organizational goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive platform governance across the Salesforce org, ensuring new enhancements align with legacy logic, standardize business processes, and enforce best practices across Cotality’s Marketing, Sales, and CX Service communities.

  • Proactively identify and remediate architectural vulnerabilities; strategize and schedule refactoring initiatives within standard sprints to systematically reduce technical debt while continuously delivering business value.

  • Own the end-to-end development cycle, ensuring all configurations and code deployments are rigorously documented, tracked, and promoted seamlessly through the environment pipeline.

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of internal Product Analysts, coaching them on effective requirement gathering (anchored by business value classifications), Agile execution, and proactive stakeholder management.

  • Oversee strategic vendor partnerships, managing co-sourced delivery models to ensure seamless collaboration, high-quality output, and accountability.

  • Optimize the service intake process used for internal support, establishing robust case categorization (Bug, Enhancement, Task) to enable data-driven prioritization.

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on support ecosystem performance (both internal and vendor), ensuring internal users receive timely, high-quality resolutions against defined SLAs.

  • Establish and maintain traceability between originating Salesforce Cases and resulting Jira Epics/Tasks for comprehensive auditability and impact reporting.

  • Facilitate key Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming) in partnership with vendor support teams, transforming high-level business needs into actionable user stories with explicit acceptance criteria.

  • Maintain deep operational familiarity with the internal support platform toolchain, specifically Salesforce Service Cloud, Jira, and GitHub, to guide the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) effectively.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent work experience; Master's degree preferred.

  • Candidate should hold a minimum of related Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Administrator / Platform Builder to be effective.

  • 10+ years in Enterprise Applications; 5+ years specifically in Salesforce Leadership.

  • Prior management experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce Service Cloud (for support) and Jira (for project management).

  • Deep expertise in Agile/Scrum. You must be comfortable managing a backlog that balances urgent "run" tasks (Support Cases) with strategic "build" projects (Enhancements).

  • Ability to vet technical solutions (Flows, Apex, LWC) to ensure they meet enterprise standards for scalability and maintainability.

  • Experience in resource planning and allocation for technology projects.

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage through subordinate managers.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Knowledge of current industry trends and emerging technologies in business applications.
