Title: Scrum Master
Location: Bangalore, Pune, India
Overview: Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced, servant-leader Scrum Master to support Agile delivery for an enterprise ecommerce application. This role will facilitate Scrum practices, coach cross-functional teams, remove delivery impediments, and help create a transparent, collaborative, and continuously improving environment. The Scrum Master will partner closely with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, developers, QA, UX, architecture, analytics, operations, business stakeholders, and external partners to enable predictable sprint execution and high-quality delivery of scalable digital commerce capabilities. The ideal candidate brings strong Agile facilitation, ecommerce application delivery experience, stakeholder communication, conflict resolution, and a continuous improvement mindset to help teams deliver customer value efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning sessions.
Coach ecommerce delivery teams on Agile values, Scrum principles, team working agreements, estimation, sprint goals, and continuous improvement practices.
Identify, track, escalate, and remove impediments that impact sprint execution, delivery predictability, quality, or team productivity.
Partner with Product Owners to ensure the ecommerce backlog is refined, prioritized, clearly understood, and ready for sprint execution.
Support cross-functional collaboration across engineering, QA, UX, architecture, analytics, security, DevOps, business operations, and vendor teams.
Promote transparency through Agile metrics, sprint health indicators, burn-down or flow data, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress reporting.
Help teams manage dependencies across ecommerce capabilities such as catalog, search, pricing, promotions, cart, checkout, payment, order management, fulfillment, and customer account experiences.
Facilitate decision-making, conflict resolution, and alignment between delivery teams, Product Owners, stakeholders, and leadership.
Shield teams from unnecessary distractions while ensuring appropriate communication, accountability, and stakeholder visibility.
Drive retrospectives and improvement actions that strengthen team maturity, delivery quality, collaboration, automation, testing, and release readiness.
Support Agile planning and delivery using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Miro, dashboards, or similar collaboration platforms.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience in Agile delivery, Scrum Master, project delivery, business analysis, ecommerce, digital platforms, or enterprise application delivery roles.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and coaching teams on Agile principles, Scrum practices, estimation, planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
- Experience supporting ecommerce or digital commerce applications, including capabilities such as product catalog, search, pricing, promotions, cart, checkout, payments, order management, fulfillment, account management, or post-purchase support.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery metrics, dependency management, release coordination, risk management, impediment resolution, and sprint execution practices.
- Ability to coach self-organizing teams, build trust, encourage accountability, and foster collaboration across technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience working with Product Owners to maintain a healthy backlog, clarify priorities, refine user stories, and align sprint goals with business value.
- Strong facilitation, communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to guide discussions across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience coordinating delivery across engineering, QA, UX, DevOps, architecture, analytics, security, operations, vendors, and business teams.
- Hands-on experience with Agile lifecycle and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Miro, dashboards, or similar platforms.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use Agile metrics, team feedback, risk indicators, and delivery insights to improve team performance and predictability.
- Knowledge of B2B ecommerce, integrations, API-based delivery, ERP, CRM, PIM, payment, tax, shipping, analytics, or omnichannel commerce platforms is preferred.
- Relevant Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster, Professional Scrum Master, SAFe Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, or equivalent are preferred.
