Accountabilities:
- Prepare and record journal entries, including payroll entries, accruals, prepaids, and month-end adjustments.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain complete supporting documentation.
- Review general ledger activity to ensure transactions are properly recorded and compliant with company policies and accounting standards.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
- Prepare recurring financial reports and provide accurate information for leadership review.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice and payment reconciliations.
- Support audit activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and requested financial information.
- Partner with finance leadership on financial analysis, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, strengthen internal controls, and increase operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and business partners while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Provide backup support for accounting team members as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting and month-end close responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, or financial controls is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity and discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience learning new financial systems or ERP platforms.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment using virtual collaboration tools.
- Experience working within a distributed or remote organization is preferred.
- Competitive salary range of $67,000–$72,000 annually.
