Here, you’ll oversee our team of experienced professionals and use cutting-edge enterprise cloud platforms to guide your clients as they modernize their IT infrastructure and meet their most challenging missions. Possessing a deep understanding of IT products and services, as a cloud architect you will be proficient in designing complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose effective migration strategies. As trusted advisors to our customers, providing guidance on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions, you will be responsible for leading the implementation process, ensuring adherence to best practices, optimizing performance, and managing risks throughout the project. We’re looking for someone like you to help keep the warfighter safe and support national security. 

You’ll collaborate closely with fellow cloud architects and engineers specializing in Office 365, Azure, AWS, GCP to design, define, develop, test, debug cloud solution components. You’ll have the chance to broaden your experience within a DevOps framework to create and manage container apps and use products like Kubernetes to further the mission. With access to our internal Azure, AWS, and GCP labs, you’ll have the space and time to explore different ways of solving our clients’ problems, and you’ll partner with stakeholders and lead your team to deliver the right technical solutions. You Have:  

  • 10+ years of experience designing cloud-based infrastructure such as IaaS, PaaS, or IaC and primary cloud environments like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for automating deployments and the management of microservices using Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), zero-trust models, encryption protocols, and industry compliance standards such as SOC2 and HIPAA

  • Knowledge of VPC configurations, VPNs, DNS, Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), and load balancing across multi-cloud and hybrid environments

  • Ability to design and implement complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to customer requirements

  • Ability to synthesize complex operational data for executive reporting and clearly articulate strategic goals to cross-functional teams

  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, advise on industry trends and emerging technologies, and propose effective strategies

  • Top Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or Information Technology

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Certification

  

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience working within Department of War supporting the development and federal acquisition of information technology

  • Experience with at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Go, or Java to assist in automation and tooling

  • Knowledge of resource optimization, pricing models, and how architecture directly impacts ongoing cloud spend

  • Knowledge of backup architectures, high availability, and failover or recovery strategies

  • Ability to design pathways that connect on-premises data centers with cloud services

  • Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or Information Technology

  • Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Oracle Cloud Architect Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,900.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
