Do you want to change how the world creates?
At Formlabs, we’re building the tools that make it possible for anyone to bring their ideas to life, from cutting-edge products to life-saving medical devices. Our 3D printing technology powers innovation at more than 50,000 industry leaders worldwide, including Apple, Google, Tesla, New Balance, and NASA. Together, we’re helping everyone design, prototype, and manufacture faster than ever before.
We’re looking for a Senior UX/UI Product Designer to help shape the future of Formlabs’ website and software ecosystem. You’ll collaborate across product, engineering, research, marketing, and leadership to create experiences for formlabs.com or spanning products such as embedded printer interfaces, desktop software, web applications, mobile experiences, and entirely new product categories.
As a designer at Formlabs, your impact extends far beyond designing screens. You’ll help define products, influence strategy, and drive innovation across the company. Designers often have opportunities to contribute across the entire ecosystem – from Formlabs.com and Form Now to PreForm, embedded experiences, and future products. You’ll regularly present your work to engineering leaders, product leadership, and executive stakeholders, making this a unique opportunity to influence products at every level of the organization.
The Job:
- Own product experiences from early exploration through successful launch, transforming customer insights into intuitive, high-quality solutions.
- Partner closely with engineering and product management to simplify complex technical problems into elegant user experiences.
- Drive innovation by identifying opportunities across our software ecosystem, not just within your assigned product area.
- Conduct user research through interviews, usability testing, analytics, and product usage data to validate ideas and uncover meaningful customer insights.
- Prototype ideas at varying levels of fidelity, iterate quickly, and guide features from early concepts to polished production experiences.
- Regularly evaluate the end-to-end customer experience and proactively identify opportunities to improve quality, consistency, and usability.
- Present concepts, prototypes, and strategic initiatives to stakeholders across the company, including executive leadership.
- Help design, grow, and maintain scalable design systems that create consistency across desktop, web, mobile, and embedded products.
- Leverage modern AI-assisted workflows – including tools like Claude, Cursor, and Codex – to improve research, design documentation, developer handoff, prototyping, and exploration of new ideas.
You:
- Are an exceptional problem solver who naturally looks for opportunities rather than obstacles.
- Enjoy tackling technically complex products and making them feel intuitive and approachable.
- Think beyond individual features and care about creating cohesive experiences across an entire ecosystem.
- Have a proven track record of taking products from ambiguous ideas through research, iteration, and successful launch.
- Care deeply about craftsmanship, interaction quality, visual polish, and thoughtful user experiences.
- Are an excellent communicator and storyteller, capable of creating compelling presentations that clearly explain your ideas and design decisions.
- Can confidently advocate for your work with thoughtful reasoning and evidence while remaining open to feedback and new perspectives.
- Are comfortable challenging assumptions – including those of senior leadership – when it leads to better outcomes for our customers and products.
- Have the judgment to know when to push harder for an idea, when to adapt based on feedback, and when to let go in service of the team’s goals.
- Thrive in a collaborative environment where the best ideas win, regardless of title or role.
- Have deep expertise with Figma and modern product design workflows.
- Have experience working closely with product managers and engineers in Agile environments.
Bonus Skills:
- Background in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Interest or experience in 3D printing, CAD, computational geometry, manufacturing software, or other highly technical domains.
- Experience designing desktop applications, embedded interfaces, or sophisticated web products.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Electron, Qt, or QML.
We Offer:
- Hybrid work
- Catered lunch at the office 3 days per week
- Private health insurance with Medicare (Blue package + hospital coverage)
- A monthly or quarterly public transportation pass for Budapest
- Shares in the company (we're a double unicorn company!)
- Free beverages and snacks at the office
- All You Can Move sports pass with 9500 HUF monthly allowance
- Free 3D prints
- An inclusive, dog-friendly office with diverse and inspiring colleagues
- Development opportunities both in-house and off-site

Above all, we’re looking for designers who are curious, ambitious, collaborative, and eager to shape the future of how products are designed and manufactured. If you believe great design can solve difficult problems – and you’re excited to work in an environment where your ideas can directly influence the direction of the company – we’d love to meet you.
