Accountabilities:
- Own and develop civil, structural, and architectural reference design standards that can be deployed across multiple facilities and locations.
- Lead site feasibility assessments, test fits, and early-stage planning activities to guide design direction and infrastructure decisions.
- Review, validate, and approve design deliverables from engineering partners, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate CSA requirements with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and IT infrastructure teams to support high-density computing environments.
- Provide technical oversight throughout construction, commissioning, and project delivery phases, resolving field challenges and design conflicts.
- Establish facility planning standards for logistics, maintenance access, operational spaces, and large-scale deployment requirements.
- Evaluate design partners, engineering firms, and construction solutions while creating qualification and performance standards.
- Identify opportunities for modular and prefabricated construction approaches to improve project timelines, costs, and delivery reliability.
- Support global infrastructure expansion through design reviews, construction audits, and commissioning activities, including international travel when required.
- 10+ years of experience delivering mission-critical facilities, including significant experience in hyperscale or large-scale data center CSA design.
- Deep technical knowledge of civil site development, structural engineering, architectural programming, and industrial facility design.
- Proven experience acting as an owner’s engineer, technical lead, or design authority responsible for standards, approvals, and external partner management.
- Strong understanding of building codes and industry standards, including IBC, IFC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, FM Global, and regional requirements.
- Experience designing facilities supporting high-density computing environments, liquid cooling systems, advanced power infrastructure, and dense equipment layouts.
- Ability to review and assess structural calculations, site plans, construction documents, and engineering packages for quality and constructability.
- Experience coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines and technology infrastructure teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field such as civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, or related disciplines.
- Preferred experience includes professional engineering or architecture licensure, modular construction, geotechnical assessment, mission-critical certifications, international project delivery, and tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, or Navisworks.
- Competitive annual salary range of $320,000 - $405,000 USD.
