**Position is open to DLMP and MCS employees only. 

As a Laboratory Information System (LIS) Technical Specialist I, you will be part of the Mayo Collaborative Services (MCS) Specimen Services IT/LIS team, with primary responsibility for supporting the Global Logistics work unit. Working alongside the IT/LIS team and Global Logistics staff, you will provide operational support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of Global Logistics systems and applications. You will serve as a technical resource supporting logistics technology platforms, shipment visibility, operational reporting, and system enhancements that enable the secure and timely transport of laboratory specimens throughout the global logistics network. As a member of the Specimen Services IT/LIS team, you will also collaborate with colleagues to provide shared technical expertise and operational support across the division as business needs arise.

This position requires a two year commitment.

Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT), chemistry, biological science from an accredited institution, or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in addition to a certificate in MLS. In histopathology or non-testing laboratories, a bachelor's degree with laboratory certification if applicable. Two years of relevant laboratory experience required. A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory processes, assays, databases and spreadsheet applications. Experience with complex test file build definitions and testing algorithms in the LIS. Experience with the IM test implementation process. 

Additional Skills and Qualifications: 

  1. Experience supporting, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise applications or Global Logistics systems.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage technical projects with minimal direction, research unfamiliar technologies, recommend solutions, and drive implementation in collaboration with operational stakeholders.
  3. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including development and maintenance of VBA macros, automated reporting tools, and complex data analysis. Experience modifying and creating macros that integrate data from multiple operational sources is preferred.
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced operational environment while maintaining rigorous documentation standards.
  5. Experience participating in system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing.
  6. Experience supporting logistics, transportation, supply chain, laboratory operations, or other operational technology environments is preferred.
  7. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to work independently.
