About our Team

You will be joining a collaborative, curious, team of Software Engineers at all different levels. In joining us you will have the opportunity to share ownership in solving engineering problems end to end.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer supporting Cirium’s Data Platform, you will help design, build, and improve the services and infrastructure that power critical data capabilities across the business. Working closely with talented engineers, you will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from research and design through to implementation, testing, support, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain scalable and resilient data platform services using DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Peer review code to promote best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Respond to support requests to keep other teams in Cirium running with our Data Platform.
  • Write and maintain documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments and bring these into the business, particularly GenAI.

Requirements

  • Experience in software engineering or a related field (equivalent experience and non-traditional backgrounds are welcome).
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to share ideas and designs effectively through documentation and collaboration.
  • Experience working with data platforms, distributed systems, and data pipelines in cloud-native environments.
  • Understanding of SRE practices, including observability, incident response, and automation.
  • Experience with Git and Github, Terraform, AWS environments, Kafka, and Python. (Equivalent technologies are welcome, too.)
  • Some experience with data manipulation - for example SQL.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for solving complex problems and troubleshooting technical issues.
