Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Supervisor to join the Data, Power and Control Team in Reno, NV.
The Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will be expected to work alongside their employees,
leading by example. This person will oversee daily inbound and outbound warehouse operations to
ensure the following: accurate order fulfillment, timely shipments, efficient receiving processes, and
compliance with safety and quality standards. This role leads a team of approximately ten warehouse
associates at two separate facilities. They will work with a dedicated logistics team to coordinate
logistical activities, and support continuous improvements within the facility.
Shipping Operations
- Supervise daily outbound activities including printing of orders, picking, packing, staging, and loading of shipments.
- Work alongside employees to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and shipped on time according to customer requirements.
- Verify shipping documentation (BOLs, packing slips, labels) for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight companies, and logistics partners to schedule pickups and resolve issues.
Receiving Operations
- Oversee the receiving of inbound materials, supplies, and products.
- Ensure proper inspection, verification, and documentation of all incoming shipments.
- Maintain accurate receiving records and track discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Coordinate receiving activities with purchasing, inventory control, and production teams.
- Leadership & Staff Management
- Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate warehouse staff in shipping and receiving functions.
- Monitor team performance and enforce operational standards.
- Promote a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
- Conduct coaching, cross-training, and development for team growth.
- Document performances to complete yearly performance reviews.
JOB REQUISITION APPROVAL
- Warehouse management tasks
- Ensure accurate inventory movement and recording in warehouse management systems (WMS or ERP).
- Maintain proper organization, cleanliness, and space utilization in warehouse areas.
- Order shipping supplies
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
- Conduct training on equipment use, and safe material handling.
- Investigate accidents or incidents and maintain safety documentation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred).
- 3+ years of warehouse experience, including shipping and receiving responsibilities.
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP SAP software, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of freight carriers, logistics processes, and documentation requirements.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
