Accountabilities:
- Design and develop innovative packaging solutions for new and existing products while considering materials, manufacturing processes, logistics, and shipping requirements.
- Select, test, and qualify packaging materials to meet performance, cost, quality, and sustainability objectives.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, and other stakeholders to integrate packaging strategies into product development processes.
- Create and maintain packaging specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), documentation, and technical standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis for packaging issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Optimize packaging designs to reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and minimize environmental impact.
- Research industry trends, emerging materials, and new technologies to identify opportunities for packaging innovation.
- Evaluate supplier packaging designs and ensure compliance with technical and quality standards.
- Support supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing collaboration for packaging materials and services.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives by identifying and implementing environmentally responsible packaging solutions.
- Experience in packaging engineering, mechanical engineering, product design, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, testing methods, and supply chain requirements.
- Ability to design, evaluate, and optimize packaging solutions based on performance, cost, and sustainability criteria.
- Experience developing technical documentation, specifications, and bills of materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, suppliers, and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of packaging industry trends, sustainability practices, and emerging technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
