About the role
We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Marketing Manager to build and lead a high-performing team in India who will manage SEM and paid social campaigns for multiple lines of business. This is a founding leadership role. You will be the first paid marketing hire in India, responsible for assembling and mentoring a team of marketing specialists who will support our paid marketing team in North America. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, asynchronous environment, is a strong people leader, and has deep hands-on expertise in performance marketing — particularly SEM and paid social. Responsibilities include the following.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Build, hire, mentor, and manage a team of four marketing specialists in India to support the North America team
Set clear performance expectations, foster professional growth, and create a high-accountability team culture
Act as the primary liaison between the India and North America teams
Participate in regular Zoom syncs to align on priorities, share updates, and surface blockers
Collaborate asynchronously with North America team through Slack, email, Google Drive, and project management tools
Work Intake & Triage
Own the intake process for new work requests assigned by the North America team
Triage incoming tasks, assign work to the appropriate team members based on skill set and bandwidth, and ensure timely delivery
Maintain transparency on team capacity and flag potential bottlenecks proactively
Execution
Oversee execution of SEM and paid social campaigns for defined lines of business
Review and approve campaign builds, optimizations, and changes
Ensure campaign work meets quality standards, brand guidelines, and performance benchmarks
Standardize reporting templates and audit frameworks to enable consistent, scalable output
Support more complex and strategic tasks as needed
Understand rules, regulations, and data ecosystems related to paid marketing and identify and communicate issues when they arise
Who you are
7+ years of experience in performance marketing (SEM and paid social), with at least 3-4 years in a people management or team lead capacity
Demonstrated expertise in SEM (search engine marketing) and paid social advertising platforms including Google Ads, Microsoft Search, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Reddit, Snapchat, and LinkedIn
Track record of effectively overseeing campaigns with annual budgets exceeding $250K USD to drive strong business results
Proven ability to manage and mentor a team, including hiring and onboarding
Experience working in an asynchronous or distributed global team environment
Strong project management skills and comfort working within project management tools
Strong problem-solving and time management skills
Detail-oriented with strong quantitative and analytical skills. Experience analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources and compiling them into insights & recommendations to improve results.
Familiarity with incrementality testing and conversion event implementation and QA
Experience using AI tools to increase productivity
Fluent in English and strong written/verbal communication skills
BS degree or equivalent experience in Business, Economics, Statistics or related field preferred.
