Responsible for people management, including acquiring talent, developing and retaining colleagues worldwide, and overseeing key programs like compensation, benefits, diversity and colleague and labor relations.
This role will play a key part in strengthening Business Continuity Management capabilities across CEG. The colleague will be responsible for helping ensure a robust, well-governed Business Continuity program is in place across the business unit, including annual planning, Business Impact Analysis recertification, audit support, regulatory readiness, and ongoing compliance with enterprise BCM requirements.
The successful candidate will work independently with key contacts across CEG, business partners, relationship leads, control partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to support continuity planning, governance, issue resolution, and process improvement. This role is ideal for someone who can navigate a complex, matrixed environment, bring structure to ambiguity, and drive forward momentum across multiple workstreams.
- Independently partner with key contacts across CEG to support the execution, oversight, and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity program.
- Manage the annual Business Impact Analysis recertification process end to end, including planning, stakeholder coordination, data collection, follow-ups, quality review, and timely completion.
- Support Business Continuity Planning exercises, Global Risk Assessments, and related program activities to ensure business readiness and compliance with enterprise expectations.
- Support Service Continuity audits, regulatory requests, and evidence gathering, ensuring responses are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Drive governance and adherence to applicable AXP Management Policies, standards, and Business Continuity Management program requirements.
- Partner with Business Partners, Relationship Leads, process owners, Control Management, and other stakeholders to support projects, identify dependencies, and resolve continuity-related risks or gaps.
- Analyze information across teams to identify control gaps, process improvement opportunities, emerging risks, and areas where additional governance or documentation may be needed.
- Support the development and maintenance of continuity-related documentation, including process flows, control narratives, procedures, and program artifacts.
- Provide structure and clarity in evolving or ambiguous areas by translating complex requirements into actionable plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Provide data-driven insights and status updates to support decision-making, program governance, and leadership reporting.
- Support control monitoring, testing, and remediation activities related to business continuity, service continuity, and operational risk processes.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Business Continuity Planning, risk management, compliance, internal controls, operational risk, audit, process governance, operations, or a related field.
- Prior experience supporting or driving Business Continuity programs, including BCP exercises, Business Impact Analysis activities, risk assessments, audit support, regulatory readiness, or program governance.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage program deliverables, stakeholder engagement, timelines, issue resolution, and competing priorities with limited supervision.
- Prior experience with compliance, risk management, internal control frameworks, or operational risk processes, such as Risk and Control Self-Assessment.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality outcomes with limited supervision.
- Intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, with interest in business process improvement, control design, testing, and operational excellence.
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed, and globally distributed environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and simply.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to connect dots across multiple inputs.
- Comfortable working in dynamic and ambiguous environments, with the ability to bring structure, clarity, and forward momentum.
- Strong team player with self-motivation, sound judgment, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and ad hoc requests simultaneously.
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and querying skills are essential.
- Familiarity with process mapping tools and governance, risk, and compliance platforms such as ServiceNow and Archer is preferred.
