About the role and team 

Leading at Uber means setting direction in motion, not waiting for perfect conditions. As the Commercial Expansion Lead, you will be responsible for driving the commercial success of Uber Eats across Ecuador and other high-growth Latin American markets. You’ll carry the weight of decisions that directly impact thousands of restaurant partners while building a high-performing team in a high-stakes, ambiguous environment.

You will need to balance people development with rigorous operational execution, turning country-level objectives into on-the-ground reality.  This position is based in Los Angeles, CA and follows a hybrid work schedule, with employees in the office Tuesday–Thursday.

What you’ll do 

  • Build, coach, and empower a team of Account Managers, ensuring they deliver tangible value to merchants while navigating the pressure of ambitious revenue and retention targets.
  • Navigate ambiguity and internal complexity to design and execute growth initiatives, collaborating across Ops, Finance, and IT to unlock value in diverse territories.
  • Manage portfolios with urgency and discipline, using data to identify performance gaps and pivot strategies when market dynamics shift unexpectedly.
  • Adapt your leadership style to influence stakeholders at all levels, from local restaurant owners to regional executives, often without formal authority.
  • Own the commercial roadmap for your region, unblocking your team from operational hurdles and making hard calls under pressure to ensure consistent execution.
  • Track the details and follow through on growth promises, ensuring that every expansion effort translates into a better experience for our partners and users.

 

Basic Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience in high-level account management or commercial leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading and developing commercial teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong track record of managing complex partnerships and delivering on revenue targets.
  • Fluency in Spanish and Business English.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in the tech, delivery, restaurant, or retail industries.
  • Proficiency in SQL for independent data analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale operations or teams within high-growth, ambiguous markets.
  • Systems-thinking mindset with a track record of leading multi-team projects to successful outcomes.

For Los Angeles, CA-based roles: The total on-target earnings (OTE) range for this position is USD $107,143 - USD $119,286. The OTE includes a base salary range of USD $75,000 per year - USD $83,500 per year and an annualized cash variable incentive target of USD $32,143 - USD $35,786.

The cash variable incentive target is based on individual sales performance and its payment is based on the terms of the Sales Incentive Plan.
